If your work week is like mine, business has slowed down a bit.  People are on vacation, emailed are far and few between and the phones are not ringing off the hook.  This is a perfect time to take stock of what you have accomplished so far this year and where you need to focus your remaining time.

Here’s what I’m doing:

  • Reviewing the goals I set for 2013
  • Providing clear examples of how I have accomplished each of these goals
  • Figuring out where I can do more
  • Laying out steps to get me there before year end vacation hits

Before I started this mini project, I was feeling a little scattered.  I knew that year end performance reviews were coming up and that I have not been following my own advice.  But after going through and taking stock of what I have accomplished so far, I feel much more centered.  I see which goal I have been neglecting and am now focused on it so that I have something to share with my supervisor when my review comes around.

How are you feeling about your year?  Have you met each of your 2013 career goals?
