Name: Terry Noland

New Position: Tribologist – someone who studies the principles of friction, lubrication, and wear. Also known as a Lubrication Engineer.

City/State:Independence, MO

Education: BS in Molecular Biology and Microbiology

Summary of your professional experience:
I went back to school later in life to obtain my degree. After graduation I realized the field was turbulent and a lot of companies were being bought out. It was at that time that I found my way into Tribology.

Length of time in Triology: 15 years

Length of time in current position: 3 months

What led you to enlist the help of a recruiter in your job search?
The recruiter actually found me on LinkedIn.  What I like about LinkedIn is that it is patrolled and managed by professionals. My experience with some other job boards is that after I posted my resume I would receive spam mail. LinkedIn also has a lot of contract business opportunities.

What was it about TAD PGS’s work on your behalf that made the difference?
The TAD PGS recruiter as well as the local Adecco representative worked to negotiate my salary. I am happy with the outcome.

What do you like most about your position as a Tribologist?
I love keeping up with advancements in the field of lubrication. For example, automotive oil today is very different from what it was in 1985. Now you can run your car 10,000 miles without an oil change and you receive better miles per gallon because of thinner motor oil. I also like being able to take my experiences and use them to fulfill this company’s needs for cost specific measures. It feels good using my experience to make a difference.

What do you do in your free time?
I like to spend my free time with my family. I am married and have a son and we enjoy traveling together. We are also active in our community church.

Summarize your overall experience with TAD PGS.
Everything was seamless with the on-boarding process. Everything has gone well.
If someone asked me if TAD PGS or Adecco were good companies to work for, I would say yes.
